FTSE has several index series which allow investors to invest in real estate, through direct investment in property and investment in real estate equities.
The FTSE UK Commercial Property indices are a daily measure of the performance of commercial property in the UK. They allow investors to invest directly in property, and give them a new way to benchmark against alternative asset classes.
The FTSE EPRA/NAREIT index series is designed to track the performance of listed real estate companies and REITs worldwide, and allows direct investment in equities listed on stock exchanges. The index is also suitable for use as the basis for investment products, such as derivatives and Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs).
