Licences for product creation

FTSE indices and data are widely used to run funds and structured products based on or linked to the indices. These include tracker funds, ETF's, OTC derivatives and exchange listed derivatives and products. All use of FTSE data requires a licence.

Running funds on a FTSE index

If the fund tracks the performance of a FTSE index, you require a licence from FTSE to use the FTSE index and to refer to the name of the index in your marketing literature and other documents.

Other index related products including OTCs

You require a licence to launch any product whose performance is linked to the value of a particular index, for example, derivatives, bonds, swaps and OTC products and for all use of the FTSE name or name of the index in the marketing of the product. Licence fees differ according to the type of product.
