FTSE Group (“FTSE”) is proud to have been selected as the index provider for the domestic Italian equity market. We look forward to meeting and working with the Italian investment community in the coming months and to launching the FTSE Italia Index Series, a new set of comprehensive and complementary indices designed especially for Italy on 1st June 2009.

FTSE and Borsa Italiana are currently working with index users and issuers to provide a period of familiarisation with the new indices before the go-live date, when the current BIt indices will be retired. A transition factsheet with full details of the methodology, retiring indices and new indices is available here.
