Euronext Single Order Book: Impact on FTSE Indices

In reflection of the Single Order Book implementation by Euronext effective 14th January 2009, FTSE announces changes for the following securities:

Fortis NV (Netherlands, 7266117) and Fortis NV (Belgium,7266139)

FTSE currently includes Fortis Group in its indices as one combined company but with two separately weighted price sources : Fortis NV Netherlands as a Dutch constituent (with 50% of the Group weight) and Fortis NV Belgium (with 50% of the Group weight). From 14th January 2009, Fortis will be included based on Fortis NV Belgium only with 100% weight. Any difference in price at close on 13th January will be expressed in the index value by applying an average weighted price at open in Fortis NV Belgium.

Arcelor Mittal (France, 7281875)

ArcelorMittal will change from being priced from France to Netherlands effective 14th January (The Sedol will change from 7281875 to B03XPL1 to reflect this).

Please note: The above changes will have no impact on the overall index weighting for either companies in FTSE's Indices.
