Wesfarmers (Australia): Entitlement Offer
Changes In FTSE Indices

29 January 2009

In accordance with the proposed Institutional component of the Entitlement Offer and Placement by Wesfarmers (Australia constituent, 6948836), it is expected that the resulting shares will not rank for the next dividend entitlement to existing shares. Therefore a new line of security, Wesfarmers New (Australia, B3X5N58) will be added to the index and will remain until close of business on the ex-date of the next dividend distribution.

A further Technical Notice will be published once the number of shares has been announced, which is expected to be 6th February 2009.
