FTSE Xinhua China 25 Index 14 July 2010 | |||||||||||||
Ping An of China (H) (China, B01FLR7, 2318) – a constituent company of the FTSE Xinhua China 25 Index – was suspended from trading on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on 30 June 2010 pending notification of a proposed restructuring. As the suspension is not thought to be to the detriment of the company and that it is expecting to issue regular updates regarding the restructure, in conjunction with the index rules, the company will be retained in the index based on its current (suspended) weighting. As the FTSE Xinhua China 25 Index is due to be re-capped based on closing weights as at Thursday, 15 July 2010 (ahead of the index rebalancing at close on Friday, 16 July 2010), FTSE Xinhua Index Limited (FXIL) will keep the existing capped weighting of Ping An of China (H) unchanged as at close of Thursday, 15th July 2010 while adjusting other FTSE Xinhua China 25 Index constituents’ capping factors as normal, according to the FTSE Xinhua China 25 Index capping methodology. Please note that the above is based on the assumption that Ping An of China (H) remains suspended from trading at close on Thursday, 15 July 2010 when the new capping factors are calculated.
