Changes in FTSE Hong Kong Index Series

In accordance with the proposed spin off of Swire Properties (Hong Kong) from Swire Pacific (A) (Hong Kong constituent) and subject to the listing approval of Swire Properties by the Listing Committee of the Stock Exchange, FTSE announces the following changes:

Please note (*): Swire Properties is not expected to commence trading until 18 January 2012. In order to avoid unnecessary index weight changes Swire Properties will be included in the index at a fixed price equivalent to the entitlement adjustment to Swire Pacific. There will be no index divisor change.

Swire Properties will remain held in FTSE indices at the fixed theoretical value until it commences trading.

Subject to the commencement of listing, FTSE expects to release a further notice on 18 January 2012 announcing an increased share total of 5,850,000,000 and a decreased investability weighting of 10% for Swire Properties effective 20 January 2012 (i.e. after market close 19 January 2012). The notice will include details of any index changes resulting from the spin-off.

FTSE Hong Kong Index Swire Pacific (A) (Hong Kong, 6867748, 00019) will remain in the index with an unchanged shares in issue total of 905,578,500 and an unchanged investability weighting of 100%.

Swire Properties (Hong Kong, B67C2G0, 01972) will be added to the index with a shares in issue total of 633,904,950 and an investability weighting of 100%.* 4 January 2012
FTSE Hong Kong Index ex H Shares Swire Pacific (A) will remain in the index as detailed above.

Swire Properties will be added to the index as detailed above. 4 January 2012
