



The 'A' share series is utilised by members of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) as well as Qualified Foreign Institutional Investors (QFIIs) and are composed of Chinese 'A' shares only. A shares are securities of Chinese incorporated companies that trade on either the Shanghai or Shenzhen stock exchanges. They are quoted in RenMinBi (RMB). The 'B' share series is utilised by international investors (non-members of the PRC except those with appropriate foreign currency dealing accounts).
All China B share classes of equity in issue trading on the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges are eligible for inclusion in the FTSE/Xinhua China B Index Series, subject to the index rules in terms of free float, liquidity and the other standard requirements. All Shanghai and Shenzhen listed stocks are eligible for inclusion in the FTSE/Xinhua China A Index Series subject to the index rules.
Each index calculates real-time from 9:30 am (China time) until 16:15 (China time) using the Reuters spot rate. End of day products are produced after the market close using the WM/Reuters official exchange rate in order for the real-time and end of day to match.
Real time products are available in Renminbi (RMB) and end of day in both RMB and US Dollars (USD).

All changes to indices are announced in the index changes section of the website. Alternatively, all licensed clients with custom service email accounts will receive technical notices of all the changes. Please note that this email service is only available to FXI clients.
