FTSE ASEAN Index Series

Market cap weighted indices capture the performance of companies from Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippine, Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam through a domestic lens.

The FTSE ASEAN Index Series represents stocks from the seven leading ASEAN financial markets: Bursa Malaysia, Hanoi Stock Exchange, Ho Chi Minh Exchange, Indonesia Stock Exchange, The Philippine Stock Exchange, Singapore Stock Exchange and The Stock Exchange of Thailand.

Its coverage includes large, mid and small cap constituents listed on the seven exchanges that make up the ASEAN partnership. The majority of the indices can be used as tools for the creation of index tracking funds, derivatives and a performance benchmark. The FTSE ASEAN Stars Index is intended as a barometer and not to be used as the basis for investment products.

The indices are calculated based on price and total return methodologies, both real time (FTSE/ASEAN 40 only) and end-of-day.

The index family includes:

FTSE ASEAN All-Share Index - designed to represent the performance of large, mid and small cap ASEAN companies from Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore through a domestic lens.

FTSE ASEAN All-Share Shariah Index - designed to reflect the Shariah compliant companies as screened by Yasaar from the FTSE ASEAN All-Share Index.

FTSE ASEAN Sector Indices - The FTSE ASEAN All-Share Index will also be calculated at Industry, Supersector and Sector levels using the Industry Classification Benchmark.

FTSE ASEAN All-Share ex Developed Index - designed to represent the performance of all the ex-Developed countries in the FTSE ASEAN All-Share Index.

FTSE/ASEAN 40 Index – an index derived from the FTSE Global Equity Index Series (GEIS), designed to represent the performance of the largest companies in the ASEAN region’s markets.

FTSE4Good ASEAN 5 Index - constituents are selected and screened in accordance with transparent and defined Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria. Derived from GEIS, the index has been designed to identify companies with recognised corporate responsibility practices, listed on the leading ASEAN financial markets: Bursa Malaysia, Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), The Philippine Exchange, Singapore Exchange (SGX) and The Stock Exchange of Thailand.
